Products/Ordering
Q: When purchasing curtains, does the track come with my order?
A: Track is not included in the price of your curtain order (which are quoted specifically for each order), however track is available to purchase, and comes with everything you need to install.
Q: Are all polyester fabrics fire-retardant?
A: No, not all polyester fabrics comply with the required NFPA 701 fire code. However, all of Cubicle Curtain Factory's privacy curtain fabrics do meet all local, state and federal fire codes and are intrinsically fire-retardant, meaning the flame resistant properties cannot be washed out, worn out or removed.
Q: What is the product warranty when we buy Cubicle Curtain Factory products?
A: Cubicle Curtain Factory has a one-year warranty on all products. This covers defects in materials and workmanship.
Q: How long will it take for me to receive my order?
A: When ordering curtains, lead time depends on the fabric you choose. We have a wide selection of in-stock solid fabrics, including our Economy Solids, Antibacterial Plus and Antimicrobial Aloe patterns. These in-stock patterns normally ship within 1-2 weeks with receipt of order.
Orders for track normally ship out in 48 hours.
Once we receive a quotation request from you, we will notify you of the approximate lead time for delivery of your order.
Q: What is the size (width, etc.) of your track and carriers?
A: Our track is 1 3/8" W and 3/4" long. Any of the carriers we provide (#12 Rollers, #11 Glides, #20 Breakaway) will work with the track you purchase from us.
Installation
Q: Can your ceiling-mounted curtain track be installed over fluorescent lights in the drop ceiling?
A: You can mount the ceiling track over the light fixture but we don't recommend it. Why? Because when you need to change the light, you will have to remove the track. It is recommended to use suspended track if you prefer not to mount it over the light fixture... this track extends from the ceiling by a length specified by the customer.
Q: Do you provide in-house installation?
A: We provide installation for large projects that meet our specifications.
Q: How do I install track?
A: When you order cubicle track from Cubicle Curtain Factory, you can rest assured that everything you need to install it will be present in the order you receive. Along with the proper components, you will receive step-by-step installation instructions, including which tools you will need to install with, i.e. tape measure, drill, etc.
Additional Information on Track & Hardware
Maintenance
Q: Can I wash my fire-retardant curtains and, if so, will they lose their fire-retardant protection?
A: All of the fabrics we provide are machine washable and will never lose their intrinsic fire-retardant protection.
Q: Where will I find the washing instructions for my curtains?
A: You will find maintenance instructions on our tag that is sewn into the inside of the curtain, 6" above the hem.
Q: How often are we required to wash our privacy bed curtains?
A: How often curtains are laundered is under the jurisdiction of your facility.
Q: If we are using the Simply 66 snap-panel curtains, are we required to wash the top mesh every time we wash each panel?
A: Laundering requirements are set by each individual facility. However, since the mesh is not handled on an everyday basis and does not need to be removed every time a panel is laundered, it does not require the same maintenance as the panels.
Q: When we install the Simply 66 snap-panel system in our facility, why are we able to use the same 66” x 66” panel for every bed in the hospital?
A: Simply 66 allows for standardization of every facility by adjusting the mesh at the top of the panels based on a specified amount of clearance from the floor & the floor-to-ceiling measurements. Panels are snapped onto the bottom of the mesh from one side and then overlap by 4" for patient privacy.
Requirements/Codes
Q: Why is there mesh at the top of the curtain and I am required to have mesh for my facility?
A: If you answer "yes" to any one of these questions, then you DO need mesh on your curtain:
-Do you have a sprinkler system in the area of where the curtains will be?
-Is there an 'Exit' sign that would be obscured when the curtain is up?
Mesh is required in the event of a fire where it is possible that a person is incapacitated and cannot immediately be out of harm's way, the sprinkler system/exit sign must perform without obstruction. The local Fire Marshall in your area presides over this requirement.
Q: Is there a standard clearance from the bottom of the curtain to the floor?
A: We use a standard of 10" clearance unless otherwise specified. The industry standard is 12" clearance. If the clearance is too high, patient privacy is compromised; too low and it is considered a health hazard (mopping, spills, etc.). You'll be hearing from the Infection Control Center.
Q: Will certified fire-retardant fabrics, such as polyester, burn in a fire, and if so, why are they required?
A: Fabrics treated with fire-retardant properties that pass the NFPA701 fire code vertical burn test will burn, however, what makes treated fabrics different than non-treated fabrics is the way they burn. For instance, when a flame is touched to the bottom corner of non-treated polyester, the fabric ignites into flames. With the same polyester fabric that is treated, the flame when held in the same position for 12 seconds will be extinguished within 2 seconds once the flame is removed from the fabric.
Pricing
Q: Can I get pricing over the phone/live chat?
A: The only way we provide pricing is through a submitted quotation request form, via fax (561.838.4959), email (sales@cubiclecurtainfactory.com) or snail mail (425 Kanuga Drive, West Palm Beach, FL 33401). Your order is custom-made for you, meaning a lot of variables are applied when receiving measurements, specifications of fabric/order, etc. It would not be fair to you for us to provide you with inaccurate pricing, which would be the case if we provided it over the phone/live chat.
Miscellaneous
Q: Are you a GSA vendor?
A: Cubicle Curtain Factory is a small women-owned GSA contract vendor. For further information on this topic, please feel free to call us at 800.588.9296.
